It was a fine Saturday,15th October. Celebration of my birthday in advance, Bf planned:
"leh pak" brunch at The Group Therapy. I had poached eggs with salmon on thick toast. It was so good but because of the egg yolk( I swear I like half-cooked yolk, but more than one yolk is puke-inducing), i got sick of it and couldnt finish the final quarter of the toast. As usual, bf had to chuck it down his gullet. Heh! He had waffles with vanilla ice cream and fruits! The waffle looks oh-so-tempting! Check out the pic below! :D Bet you'll drool, if not it's cos of my poor photography skills. Heh!
After-which, we caught "what is your number?" movie. Hilarious chic flick, not the best, but tickles the tummy afterall. I thought they could have used a younger female actress, but oh wells, Ana faris(spelling?) acts well, especially with a unique voice.
Dinner was at Sentosa Golf club's ilLido restaurant. Bf chose this place over Skypark due to the food reviews. He'd thought we could see a splendid sunset too. But the sky was kinda hazy, so we missed it. This place is kinda "atas", it made me break out in a cold sweat while eating at start. That was then I wished i had attended more etiquette courses to polish my fine dining skills. Hah! Thank goodness I didn't make too much noise while eating or worse, break a wine glass! After the appetizer creme brûlée, I warmed myself up to the surroundings and figured who'd be looking at me eating. So what the heck, shouldn't i eat my food comfortably and enjoy my time with Bf! Well, dinner turned out well eventually!
Time spent with boyfriend is always memorable, no matter where or when. Who am i kidding. Haha! That day was especially memorable! :D

Birth of my macbook air!

Traded in my 1.5 years old macbook pro at sim lim square for a new mac air.

Had to top up $400 altogether for the accessories and this.

Glad i made the switch cos this 13' machine is so freaking light!

If not for my Macbook pro giving me problems like shutting down incessantly when i needed it the most(report). I wouldn't have to sell it. And ya, the fact that i didn't buy warranty for Macbook Pro too.

I MUST MUST remember to buy Apple care for Mac Air else i'm better off bankrupt!

It just popped in my mind yesterday night 3am-ish that i don't have many best friends.
Friends that i used to think are my "best-est", aren't really.
But what makes a friend my best friend?
Since she/he is the best, I will only need one don't I?
As absurd as how i could open a sealed envelope faster using my fingers, than a letter opener, I Google-d this "How to find out who your best friends are."

Here's how from Wikihow . . .

1: Don't ignore your gut feeling. Do you usually feel manipulated by your friend? Do you usually have a bad feeling when they come and talk to you? Do you just feel like they aren't putting in enough effort?

2.Ask them if they can go with you on errands. If he/she says yes but afterwards refuses, you know that one's a goner.

3.Ask them if they could stay with you after school. If they say yes, but then say he/she has other plans, you know they probably don't want to be with you.

Just back from a friend's 21st bday party/sleepover that made me awfully exhausted!

Not because i didnt get to sleep at all, but because the sleep isnt enough and good.

How and why:

-The room's air-conditioner is definitely working hard to freeze my head into some icy-pop! It was bbrrrrrr...too cold! I'd rather sleep in a stuffy room and sweat then shiver myself to sleep.

-Selfish of me or not, i 'don't quite' like sharing a bed. BAHHH..Who am i kidding! I NEVER like sharing a bed. Not to mention SINGLE BED. UGHHH...Just squeeze me into that blending machine already. The thought of the lack of space, sharing a pillow, sharing a blanket, not being able to toss and turn around w/o disturbing the poor soul beside you, it puts me off, puts my sleep off. THIS CLAUSTROPHOBIC FEEL. But since it's with the birthday girl, and there're lack of mattresses, i figured, alright then. See that's why i need a good nap right now!

-deactivate FB/ set limitation, say twice a week or only when i'm tagged. (Yea..Obsession is my profession.)

I have been a very lousy blogger.

BUT, this is my space, so who cares:D

What's going on in my life right now? Well....I'm a volunteer in the Youth Olympic Games (YOG)!

Awesome isn't it? How many people get to be involved in smth that means so so significant to Singapore? A once in a lifetime event!! Yea, i know some friends think i'm nuts, contributing effort in smth that i'm not paid for. Haha! As long as it's fulfilling to oneself, who cares whether u're paid? But of course, even if u like sweeping your house floor, doesn't mean u go around people's houses with a broom and work your magic! Anyhoos, the Visa debit card the YOG organisation had given us finally worked! It took quite sometime to be activated! I have been paying with my own bloody, sweatily hard earned money for my transportation! Suppose there's a glitch in LTA system? Bahh...

And ya..The Visa works like an EZ-link card too, that provides me unlimited bus rides and 4 train rides per day. Now, this is the ups of being a volunteer. A concession like such costs about $95? Oh wells. . .

It's bemusing how one's thought and views changes as he or she matures.

I used to hate it when people smoke, and if they're my friends, I'll keep reminding them to smoke less and encourage them to quit.

But now, as much as i dislike people to smoke, I sort of understand how hard it is to quit, with the cold withdrawal symptoms and stuff...Not that i have been through it or sorts..haha! But i don't detest smokers as much as i did, younger!

Oh goodness! "10 promises to my dog" made me cried till my eyes swell, almost choked on my tears... This particular scene whereby the main actress(from a girl to young woman) recalls the 10 promises to her dog, Socks, of which she mostly didn't fulfill when she grows older, was especially touching. It simply burst all my tear bags!
I used to want a golden retriever so bad (though i'm afraid of big dogs), but after watching the movie and feeling the immense sorrow when the dog leaves for netherworld, really made me re-think whether i should commit myself in keeping a dog, knowing that i would be so so sad upon losing it eventually... ...

Having recovered from fever and flu,(thanks to insinyur camp)
i'v been dilligently doing household chores and other stuff.
Like washing my fan, mopping the floor, scrubbing the toilet, decluttering SOME mess on my desk and last of all, making my first ever, FRUIT SALAD! Yummm!
Hah! No Sweat!

how am i to concentrate on studies? Is there enough time and energy? Sigh. I hope so!

I SAW A SHOOTING STAR FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE!
It was so quick, i could barely figure it was a shooting star till it almost disappeared from my sight!
I was so elated! OH OH but only the girl in front of me and I realised that there was a shooting star!
We shouted at each other's face: "Shooting star!!!!!"
And then i quickly made my wish!
GOSH! Best time of my life!

Hey there earthlings.
I'm back from the Insinyur camp (combined engnrg camp)!
Most campers like me, rested less than 5 hours a day.
What's worse, it's a 6day5night camp. @__@ See the huge stamped eyes?
Ya.... n did i mention about my sunburnt skin?
My shoulders, are like monkeys' asses!
Think it's expedient i apply some cool aloe vera gel on them later!

About this camp,
there were mere differences compared to camps i've participated in SP.
Slackier but still the same fun experience i'd get.
The games planned for us, challenges the depth of my open-ness and dared me to try things i thought i would never have tried. E.g Exchanging pants with opposite sex under the waters of sentosa palawan beach?! Get what i mean dont ya.
The games, most of which, i've never played or even heard before! Thus, the fun and challenge.
I feel that the essence to having absolute fun and good memories of a camp is one's campmates.
They either make u all so excited and high during the camp, or made u sulk like a dork and wondered why u ever paid the freaking 50 sing dollars to go through this shit. Haha
The food provided was below expectations though. Given tt they'd snagged $50 per head(200 campers), i thought they'd provide better food! Probly cos they spent the money on better lodging instead. We spent nights at Coasta sands resort(Sentosa and pasir ris, each resort for 2 diff nights) n the Girl Guides Bunk(2 nights). 1 of the night, i slept at home sweet home=D.
Evoked envy from many campmates, esp those girls! haha!
Speaking about those girls. HAHAHA. They love to sing so much! We even decided to meet up for K-session soon. You should know that i find K-sessions a waste of money,not time though. True, one would have had joy with friends and family, singing tgth, but it's too pricey for a gathering. You think? I'd rather have dinner and engage in gossips. Life's been really busy!

And finally today, under the sweltering hot sun, my graduation ceremony 2009 begun.

Nervous? Definitely! Nope, not the night before, but the moment when i was seated and watching others walked up the stage, receiving their cert holder. Yup,that's when i felt butterflies fluttering all over my tummy. My seat felt like a butt toaster, i couldnt quite sit properly and was fidgeting all the time. When the host announced that we have to get ready our i/c and seat ticket to be able to collect our cert, i was mortified. Shouted in my head, "Oh dammit! MY i/c is with mum! Should i go get it now or later? What do i do, what do i do?!"
Asked the guy whom i know, but not very familiar with, a seat away from me, whether he had his i/c with him. And he said yes. I panicked. As if i didnt know that his answer doesnt determine the need of me having my i/c with me. I still asked a silly question like that. Crap, i gotta get up my seat and look for my parents to fish out my i/c from one of either 3 bags. Why the hell we brought so many bags? One is my mum's handbag, 2nd, my graduation robe plastic bag, last, the video cam and digi cam bag. Brilliante?
After being chided by dad for being such a scatterbrain, I got hold of my I/c,so tight. Yes, i'm afraid it'll melt into butter and slip off my hands.

Back at my seat, fidgeting for another half and hour,texting Shikin(regarding her insanity about burke & yang from greys anatomy, she'd rather watch GA at home than to attend this ceromony!)Watching our friends receive their cert holder and cheering them on.
FINALLY, it's my turn to get up and join the queue. Could feel my legs going a lil wobbly! Photographers are taking close up shots, thousand pairs of eyes are staring! I'm wearing heels! Will i trip and fall? How should i pose for the camera, should i smile or look serious? How should i tidy my hair? Lotsa mixed thoughts in my head! Oh my, adrenaline escalating inside me.
Blink of an eye, i'm already at the stairs of the stage. One usher asked if i was nervous, and i replied yes i really am! She smiled and congratulated me. Another usher told me i had nice heels! Smiled and thanked her, and i'm ready to "catwalk" down to shake my handsome director of EEE Dr. Dave Chong's hands! I brisk walked and shook Dave's hands, got hold of my cert holder and smiled at the camera. Tadah! All's over!

Now, zooming into what happened after the whole graduation ceremony.
I was like a busy bee, buzzing around,snapping pictures with familiar faces.
All ye friends i've made throughout my whole poly life. One by one i shall name...Shikin, Fu Ming(helped him snap a family portrait), Raymond, Wenna, Wen Ming, Dzul Fadhli, Larissa,Shikin's friend Amirah, Pei Rong, Jing Yong, Angus, Melvin, Melvin's personal tutor, Ms Tan Min Inn, Andy, and finally, Raudhah(just before i rushed off with my parents and sis!)
I was sooooo excited and of course, sweating like a pig, which is why most of my pictures turned out badly. I wasnt at my best, with dishevelled hair and a sweaty face! Such a pity!:( It didnt help with my dad rushing me to leave cos he's rushing for time and needs to fetch us back. Disappointment T.T I really wished i could stay on longer and snap more pics and hang out with my friends. I might not be able to see them anymore in future u see. Different paths, different lives. Sobs. And on my way home, inside dad's car, one of my classmates texted me to ask me to take a pic with him. Too late:(

But hey, overall, i'm still pleased i took pictures with most of the people i love. Oh! My precious memories of this faithful day will be locked in my head n heart forever till death takes me! DRAMA! :D

I'm that lucky worker that filled up the shortage for my previous internship company.

The boss was reeeeelly nice to have compromised with my requested schedule and salary expectations.
I'll be working part-time there till August!

I've been slacking this past 1+1/2 month so bad, i'm feeling a little worse than guilty.
Household chores, surfing net, watching movies, hanging out with friends, driving lessons,
Teaching my sister homework(sometimes i was even forced to do her hmwk!), shopping with Mum!

BORING LIFE.
I wish i could work, but --->economic downturn.
Who would wanna engage someone to do Administrative stuff for 3 to 4 Months only?!
I wouldnt want to do that too, if i were a boss.
Train an employee to deal with company's admin stuff(training needed cos certain companies have different styles of having their paper work sorted. Some are even confidential!) and bid goodbye to her in a wink. Engage another worker and RE-train. Jeez! Unless it's urgent--pregnant mother on labour leave, shortage of workers due to new project/lobang received. I wouldnt wanna spend unneccessary effort and $$ in engaging an admin staff who could commit only this long.
Therefore, i'll file the documents, photocopy papers and fax stuff moiself! I'm still the boss, but during suay times, who cares!
Hahahaha!
Seee...now u know why i still do not have a stable job.

Humpty Dumpty sat on the wall,
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
That dumpty was me!
Utterly shameful.
Felt thousand pairs of eyes, watching how stupidly i fell.
It was so dramatic.
I climbed up the escalator and my slipper got tripped on one of the stairs somehow,
then i just fell forward, throwing the umbrella on my hand up to the air, which then landed a few steps before me. And no, i didnt just stand up gracefully to bend down again and pick up my umbrella.
i crawled forward to reach for my umbrella.
You know, like a ghost crawling on the escalator.
i must have been out of my wits.
Imagine the embarrassment i've felt after i jolted back to senses.
Face's thrown all over for people to step on.
SHAME SHAME was all i could think of,
and i didnt know why i exhaled a loud "OMG" after i fell.
TRIPLY SHAMED
Called my mother 20 mins after(time taken to jolt back to senses),
to whine about the dumb incident.
But she chided and laughed at me. Thanks for the comfort there.
Well i know, it does sounds funny, when i started piecing the facts slowly in my brain with calmness.
Thereafter, i messaged Shikin and Fang Qing to tell them abt what happened. Jeez.
Laughter's the best medicine for the pain i'm going through now.
Just laugh:"HAHAHA"===>Swollen legs will be fine. (i wish)

On a side note, i'm really glad that NTU accepted me into their EEE course.
They offered me a direct entry to 2nd year!

Shocked when i heard that one of my friend,
actually got attached recently.
wondering why i was shocked that she got attached?
Because we share a common and weird theory of liking/loving someone(opposite sex of course)

Here's my theory: I love chasing the love that eludes me.

The male party kept it tucked away,
like papers in a briefcase.
And I kept trying to get in there.
It'll be a colossal waste of time and effort if the love aint reciprocated.
But i can't help it.
As said, i love chasing the love that eludes me.
Queer and heartbreaking isnt it?
It's like pulling triggers back on yourself.
Giving oneself unneccessary pain and problems.

Yet there can be gay occasions.
Exhilarating to know that your secret crush for the other party is mutual too.

Having your love reciprocated is like the best thing ever that can happen to you.

You felt like all your efforts, faith and time had paid off.
However, since the crush(deemed as an aim by my weird theory) has been achieved.

There is no point in doing anything anymore.
Because it's a cycle!
The cycle of chasing the love that eludes me.
And this goes on and on..... .... .....
This is why i get myself into a heart-wrenching point whereby
i lose the ones i had once loved and loved me because i lose my love too easily.
I don't treasure things that i have. (Regarding guys only, not friendship or anything else.)

I guess this theory of mine is hard for others to understand unless they had been in the same situation too.

Outsiders might just look at it that i deserve it.
But really, I cant help it : |
I wish i could just stick to one love and be faithful to him throughout.
Perhaps the only guy i would be faithful always is the one that plays hard to get even if we're in a relationship already.
The harder it is for me to keep his heart, the more i would like to try to!
This makes it challenging to me and i'll just stick to him, stick to chasing the love that eludes me:)

Body malfunctioning

The left side of my nose hurts, (i dont know why)
the left side of my upper gum hurts, (ulcer)
the right side of my thigh itches, (rashes or mozzie bite?)
my throat hurts. (sore)
So, i self conclude that my body's not functioning all right now.
Over-heated.
Not to mention that i always drink less than 2 cups of water a day.
HORRIBLE HABIT THAT I NEED TO BREAK.
i should drown myself with water,
RIGHT NOW!

Uhm..before that, i'd better pen down what's on my agenda for fri, sat n sun.
Too much activity for my pea-sized brain to rmb.
Friday: Gym, movie and then piano lesson.
Saturday: Gym, work, buy cheng ting for jie shi and send her off at airport.
Sunday: Probly treat my sister to watch Wall. E, slack the aftnn off, have dinner at uncle's place.
Alright!
A load off my chest n brain storage space!
Now my brain functions faster with lesser items in my head!

Knowing that there could no possibly be a good "present" to claim from wenna's blog,
i still visited it. And landed myself with this dopeshit (below) -___-"'

And at the end of it, bloggers have to tag 10 *0 peeps to do this quiz :) & of course to tell them that they had been tagged.
*Jiayi's friend had changed the rules because she is lazy to tag 10, and i changed the rules cos i'm lazy to tag anyone. Sounds unfriendly huh.

1) MUSIC IS LIFE! I need them to survive.
Especially through the long travelling journey back home.

2) I LOVE TO SLEEP! But i don't think i have enough sleep!
Take a close look at my eye rings,bags.
Someday, just ONE fateful time, i'm gonna hibernate my week solid! Wooo!

3) I bring a water bottle out, but never seem to finish my water and i bring it home again.
It's like a vicious cycle. Annoying. (I can forget to drink my water you know.)

4) I LOVE MY SISTER so so deep and HATE her so so bad when she irritates me.
(oh yes, i have a 7 year old sister!)
I get irritated:
#1 When she steals all my cute possessions that are within her reach!
And i'll go screaming at the top of my lungs.."UGHH! YAN NING!! DID YOU TOUCH OR TAKE MY STUFF AGAINN???! RETURN ME!" (and she'll either hide somewhere in fear,
or bullshit her crappy reasons about wanting my stuff so bad that she resort to doing such an act.)
#2 When she comes into my room just to fart right in front of my face. ARSSSE!

5) I care about what others think or feel about me. I like to give care and concern to others.
Perhaps, this is why some of my friends address me as their " Mummy" , "Big Sister" or even " Auntie"! @_@

6) I WATCH TV PROGRAMS LIKE IT's GONNA BE THEIR LAST TIME PLAYING IT.
My eyes are hardcore glued to the screen. I'm practically a couch potato. Please please do
burn me a paper tv when i've gone to the neither world.

7) I hate it when my mother shouts so loud when discipling my sister. I just don't think shouting and threatening is necessary when disciplining a kid. But my sister gets so naughty at times...

8) I love doing housework when i'm NOT ORDERED to.
Or perhaps, i like it when i do things on my own accord. Makes me feel more accomplished!

9) I learn piano, i'm in a netball team in secondary school, i can swim, cycle, run.
Random facts about me ya.

10) I am a horoscope guru:)) ilovereadingthem!!

During brunch at AMK Hub's foodcourt with my mother & lil sister today,
after purchasing my dumpling ramen back to the table where mum and sis are seated ...

Stranger(aunt): (Looks at me and my sister while sipping her coffee) Wahh, both are your daughters?
Mum: Ya. (looking disinterested, busy scooping ramen noodles and soup out to another bowl for my sis. )
Stranger: Oh wow, you have such a good life! Your elder daughter can help take care of the young one.
Mum: Hah.Ya (forced a smile, as she continues scooping noodles out of my bowl.)
Stranger: And they're both very pretty girls.
Me: Looked up at her and smiled beamingly.
Mum: (smiled and fed noodles into my sister's mouth while shoving her chair nearer to the table)
Sister: Mummy! Auntie says jie jie and I are pretty! She didnt think you are! (Laughs hysterically)
Me: o.O (stupid naive sister, blurting words without processing her brains again.)
Mum: Yaya..Hurry shut up and eat! (fed her with another mouthful of piping hot noodles)
Stranger: (lost for words, mumbled a "Bye" and sipped her last mouth of coffee before leaving)

i had GREAT STRETCHINggg at true yoga with spongebob-Xiu Li!

totally worked our abs and back!

now it's still a lil sore,

i definitely need more exercises!

even if i'm not old, i think i am getting so!

i get sick so easily!

speaking abt sick,

i just recovered from flu, cough n sore throat a week ago,

BUT today,

i got it back again.

my body immune system's weak eh!!

i hate getting a sore throat.

it makes me feel guilty whenever i wanna consume fried food.

and should u know, fried food is my daily "staple"

i eat it everyday..

fried fish/chicken/beef, french fries, char kway teow, hokkien noodle, fried beehoon..

AND so much more!

how COULD I BEAR TO PART THEM!!!!!

i can imagine myself sitting at bugis's TCC,
listening to this song,
slacking,
chatting with gd friends,
watching the hustle n bustle of city life,
while i'll be enjoying my cup of nice hazelnut coffee..
mmm..
i can "imagine" the aroma of it..haha!
relaxation..it's what i need very much now,
especially cos it's the MUGGING for EXAM period.
